Digital Therapeutic (DTx) App Product Designer *Fluent in Japanese*

Hyfe is seeking a Product Designer with experience in behavior change and digital health, and exceptional skills in human-centered design, UI and UX. You will work alongside our outstanding developers and health professionals to design/build an app from the ground up that makes a significant difference to the quality of life of people with problematic cough.

Your Mission

Your mission is to design a digital therapeutic mobile app that builds on Hyfe’s unique cough-detection and insights capacity. The app will be based on proven behavioral therapy that reduces cough sensitivity and results in resolution of chronic cough for a majority of patients. You will also drive iterative work to increase appeal, stickiness, and retention.

You will

  • Develop a deep understanding of potential users and prescribing healthcare providers
  • Define interaction patterns
  • Create the logic and UI of new app features
  • Create mock-ups and prototypes to validate concepts
  • Pose and analyze tests to iterate and improve on the prototype and MVP
  • Communicate well in a remote work environment with relevant team members and stakeholders 
  • Create and maintain design library
  • Help define key performance metrics for engagement
  • Iteratively improve on above metrics

About You

  • Fluent in Japanese
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Expert in Japanese app design standards
  • Experience designing for the Japanese market
  • 3+ years of UX design experience
  • 2+ years of UX experience in designing native mobile apps 
  • Experience designing for behavior change, ideally within digital health 
  • Experience one or more of these domains: education, health & fitness, productivity, and well-being
  • Excellent track record designing apps that deliver engaging, personalized content 
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates results
  • Ability to create interactive prototypes, showing knowledge of Interaction Design / UI Design principles
  • Expertise in standard design tools (Figma etc) and comfort with developing concepts to MVP and final mock-ups
  • Excellent understanding of in-app metrics and performance tools
